BlockOut® Cot Tent 1P

So far it seems solid. Easily setup and ready to use in minutes. Did the backyard trial and slept comfortably with just a sleeping bag and pillow. Waiting to field test and get a true test result

Me and my dog Kimchi Love it! I have it set up on my deck for now and we had a rainstorm and we were high and dry. Also love all the doors, mosquito netting and black out quality. Probably best of all is the ease of getting in and out. Recommended to a friend with knee problems who has trouble getting in and out of her tent. She says she will buy one too! Thanks for making a great product.

Just took out my 1P cot tent for a week long trip in south eastern Colorado and then cot performed beyond expectations. We got caught in one of the worst rain/wind storms I've ever slept outside in. Winds with rain were report in the 40-50 mph range and everything on our cot tents held up perfectly. Zero leaks, rips, tears, or failures. Huge success!

I just got back from a three+ week camping trip and boy do I wish I had this with me! This is going to be my go-to for car camping from now on. SUPER fast and easy set up. From the carry bag to erected, the intuitive setup takes less than a minute, maybe two if you put the rainfly on. It has guy lines if you want to guy out the fly in the event of wind or rain, keeping things extra secure...and also comes with included poles so you can erect an awning on your shelter for shade. Too cool.

It's essentially a hybrid cot/tent, which is kind of the best of both worlds: combining the comfort of being off the ground with having a secure shelter. I can fully sit up inside (though I am short) and there is a ton of room length-wise if you are tall. I am not, so I have a ton of room at the foot to stash gear. But, it has several interior pockets throughout to keep your odds and ends sorted. And is plenty wide if you require more space or a larger sleeping pad. I usually am not a fan of one-person ANYTHING, being that one-person tents usually feel like a coffin. However, this is a remarkable exception.

The rainfly is waterproof and when inside the tent, it is blackout as advertised. But there are a ton of ways you can configure this thing, with multiple exits and ways to roll up the rain fly, which makes it even cooler. Sleep with the fly off for a bug-free night under the stars.

The ask price on this is absolutely on point, as it is a great piece of gear. This thing is built well and to last. Highly recommend (from someone who has tested tons of tents and camps almost half of the year).

This cot is ready to rock. There’s about 10 minutes of unboxing, and the initial figuring it all out took me maybe 20 minutes. The top and bottom collapse, the cot folds in half and the sides pull in. The whole bundle gets strapped down and zipped into the bag. It’s a heavy-duty piece of gear, this is 30+lbs. I wouldn’t want to carry this on a hike, it’s best for a low-profile base camp.

The blackout rainfly is its best feature. Works very well. Flaps where I want them, so the waterproofing doesn’t let the rain roll right into the open tent. It rolls away from the openings.
It seems like every tent I can recall using got unbearably hot within an hour of sunrise, but this one held the cool night air all morning. In 85 degree sun all morning, this was still 70 or below at noon! I can tell this was designed for Australia, because that heat blocking is impressive. My photos show it inside with the flap unzipped so a little light could get thru the opening. Fully zipped it gets very dark, no glare on a screen dark. I could game in here in the middle of the afternoon, and if I had it set up overnight, it would be almost like stepping into air conditioning. The dark fly goes almost to the ground, well beyond the cot, so there’s barely any light getting in. I really like that. The front opens up like a canopy with the stakes, which need to be tied to stay put. Being off the ground but still very solid, blackout and colder, very few bugs find their way inside. No lights or heat to draw them in. It surprised me that leaving it unzipped for days, it was almost always free of bugs.
The cot is taut and flat, it’s best with a pad and a pillow. It’s really cozy with blankets. I like that I can keep a cooler and gear cases underneath it, and they’re well hidden. The cooler stays cold longer in the dark.
I found this the easiest tent style for dealing with wet/dirty boots, thanks to the front porch feature. The front is a seat where I can lift feet and remove boots, and they can be stored under the cot overnight. Same with outerwear. It’s a very practical setup for one person. Relatively easy to relocate. The value is there for sure, this has a lot of attention to detail, like the little pull tabs on the fly above the zippers, exactly where I need them.
